Double-check your flight information several times.
Prepare the originals of your school certificate and transcript (+legalized copies), medical documents, photos 35x45 mm (10 pieces) passport and put it in your bag. You will have to provide those originals to the college upon arrival. Copies won’t be accepted!
Check the luggage and carryon (hand luggage) limitations on your flight tickets. Make sure you do not have overweight and excess baggage. Otherwise you will have to pay for it.
Make sure you do not have prohibited items in your hand luggage (check the airline website to find the list).
It’s recommended to go or at least to call the airport in order to speak to the immigration officer to clarify if your documents are sufficient to leave the country. If necessary, get the contact details of the officer who has confirmed that you have all the necessary documents.
Exchange your local currency for dollars in your city (country). In Russia it won't be possible to exchange your local currency. Take as much as you can for the initial time. It will take some time to get your first allowance. Approximate time before you are officially registered and employed is up to 1,5 months.
